Welcome to Roman! This is a big transition year and we are here to help. Every student will have a one on one meeting with his counselor was well as classroom presentations. We encourage students to come to guidance with any questions or concerns. Just stop in and ask for an appointment. It is important to start your high school years off strong. Welcome! Now that you have completed your freshman year, you know the expectations of high school. If you had a successful first year, build on that! If you struggled in your freshman year; start fresh and strong. Don’t underestimate yourself and ask for help when you need it. This is year is about finding balance and honing your skills as a student. Your counselor will meet with you this year to talk about your academics as well as college and career.
Junior students will be assigned either Mrs. Desmond or Mr. Shields who will continue to work with the student in their Senior year. The College Counseling Interviews will begin the 2nd Semester. The College Admissions and Counseling Center is at the foot of the main staircase. The department offers an array of services in the area of academics and personal counseling. Our counselors meet with students one on one to discuss with any areas of concern. We can assist with personal, social and academic issues as well as college and career. We currently use Naviance, a comprehensive tool for college and career readiness. All students are given a user name and password freshman year. We encourage students to log in often and use the resources available.
