Athletics at Roman Catholic High School
Athletics are a serious focus at Roman. Home to 35 athletic teams, including 17 varsity sports — we offer the most programs among all Archdiocesan high schools. Young men are encouraged to participate, grow together, and represent the Purple and Gold with pride.
Our goal for athletes is to create well-rounded young men who understand sport from both the mental and physical perspectives. Training under passionate coaches who partner closely with school faculty, athletes at Roman becomes sportsmen of great integrity across everything they do.

Big wins for the Purple and Gold
In both the 2022 & 2023 season, Roman’s basketball team won the PCL and District 12 Championships
In 2021, the Golf Team captured the AOP Championship
In 2021, the Track and Field Team was home to the PCL MVP, the District 12 Champ in the 400 meters, and had four 1st Team All-Catholic members
In 2021, the Crew Team had two quads compete in the Scholastic National Crew Championships

ATTENTION: THIS REGISTRATION PROGRAM IS FOR STUDENTS WHO WILL BE COMPETING IN A FALL SPORT DURING THE UPCOMING/CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR OF 2025-2026.
PIAA Participation Requirements (PLEASE READ):
INITIAL EVALUATION (Required before 1st Season of Play within a school year): Prior to any student participating in Practices, Inter-School Practices, Scrimmages, and/or Contests, at any PIAA member school in any school year, the student is required to complete a Comprehensive Initial PreParticipation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) by doing the following:REGISTERED BEFORE? - Log in to your Arbiter Registration (FamilyID account) if you have registered before (DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT).
OR
NEVER REGISTERED BEFORE? - Create an Arbiter Registration (FamilyID account) if you have NEVER registered before.
(2) Have the appropriate person(s) complete the first five sections of the PIAA CIPPE Form within this online registration.
(3) Section 6 physical evaluation (found at PIAA.org) must be filled out by an Authorized Medical Examiner (AME), and uploaded in the appropriate section of this online registration. If you already uploaded one for this school year, you don't need to upload it again.
(4) WINTER & SPRING REGISTRATIONS ONLY: If you competed in a sport already for the current school year and answer yes to any questions within the Section 7 Recertification block, you will need to upload a Section 8, Re-Certification by Licensed Physician of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine, within this online registration.
***SECTION 6 PHYSICAL (The only paper form you need to print and upload to this registration)
YOU MUST DELETE any previous physical uploads dated before June 1 of this year.

All student-athletes must have a PIAA CIPPE Form in order to compete. This needs to be completed by your family physician. If you missed the date, your doctor might offer ways to help offset the cost. CVS and Walgreen’s also offer sports physicals at a reasonable cost.

It is very important that you show up to pre-season camp in the best shape possible. Below are some ways to make sure you are ready:
Follow a workout routine designed for your sport over the summer months
Attend a camp for your sport as a tune up for pre-season
Contact your coach about expectations and make sure you follow those guidelines
Attend off-season volunteer practices as many times as possible
